Why this works better than AI inpainting

Gemini places a semi-transparent sparkle in the bottom-right corner of every image it generates. The sparkle's shape and transparency are fixed, so the blending can be reversed with simple math. That brings back the pixels that were underneath, instead of guessing them.

Everything runs on your device in a fraction of a second. No upload, no account, no credits.

What it handles

Nano Banana images

Images made with Gemini's image models, in every aspect ratio.

Both sparkle sizes

The small 48px and the large 96px marks, in the positions Gemini uses.

Resized copies

Images scaled down after download. Results are best on the original file.

The newer sparkle design

Includes the sparkle design Gemini started using in 2026.

How to remove the Gemini watermark

  1. Choose the image

Use the original PNG or JPG you downloaded from Gemini.

  2. Wait a second

The tool finds the sparkle and reverses it on your device.

  3. Download

Save the restored image as a PNG.

Good to know

  • Screenshots and heavily compressed copies may keep a faint outline. Use the original download when you can.
  • This removes the visible sparkle only. Google's invisible SynthID watermark stays in the image, so tools that check for SynthID can still tell it was made with AI.
  • If no sparkle is found, try the AI watermark remover on the home page. It works on any watermark.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Gemini watermark remover free?

Yes. It's free and unlimited, and it doesn't use credits, because it runs in your browser.

Does it remove SynthID?

No. SynthID is an invisible watermark spread across the whole image. This tool removes only the visible sparkle, and SynthID stays.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The image is processed on your device and never sent to our servers.

Why wasn't the sparkle found?

The tool looks for the sparkle where Gemini places it. Cropped, rotated or edited images can hide it. Try the original download, or use the AI watermark remover.

Can I remove the watermark and say I made the image myself?

Don't present AI images as real photos or as fully human-made where that matters. Some platforms and laws require AI content to be labeled.
